As the british newspaper 'The Mirror' reports, there is an alarmingly large number of attempted fraud at driver license tests in the UK. These deceptions are often commited by professional fraudsters, with one of them being possibly connected to more than 500 cases. So, attending those tests for someone less able is obviously a highly profitable business, with fees of up to 3000 british pounds being demanded. As the people attending the tests have to be taken for someone else, the disguises used by the fraudsters have to be quite sophisticated. Besides making use of false beards, wigs or turbans the fraudsters are also using realistic masks made from latex of silicone. Emphasis is laid especially on the creation of lifelike masks, with professional makeup artists being employed in the creation.
According to estimates there are up to 40000 motorists driving in the UK with drivers licenses obtained in the way described above. It is understandable, that the public authorities intend to prevent such possibilities in the future, as the receivers of the drivers licenses pose a risk to other people.
